Reflecting on the journey here at the end of it. There were things we meant to do, and never got around to, people we meant to talk to that we never met, places we meant to see that we simply didn’t have time for.
But overall, the river was beautiful, life aboard the Dotty was peaceful, my shipmates were inspiring, and the people we met gave me faith in humanity.
We pulled off some things we’d never done, like a six month solo exhibition. We traveled 612 miles in just over a month and didn’t sink.
As always, we use our standard criteria for evaluating success: no one died, no one got arrested, and no one lost a limb.
Now we only have to break down a big exhibition, pack up all our boats, and make our way two thousand miles home.
