When we arrived in Bridgewater, PA along the Beaver River we pulled up to an open space at the very first marina we saw and immediately a few folks came out to catch our lines and help us out. We were parked in someone’s space apparently but it was okay because that boat was out for repairs. A small crowd gathered everyone talking at once, asking questions. Are you hungry? Cuz there’s good restaurants here. Here’ Mike, they said, the marina owner. Talk to Mike. Mike was okay with us being there. Do you need power? Water? Do you need any money? Hey, Mike said, there was another weird boat that came through here with a chicken on board. Yes, something like that, about six years ago. A young woman. Yes she had a fellow with her. Two chickens? I thought it was just one. And it laid eggs! Yes, I think you’re right, her name was Faith. Well you’re welcome to stay here as long as you need. Do you need anything? Groceries? My keys are in my truck.
