Anthony Givens shared this story about his dad:
After World War II around 1955, my dad got a job with TVA. He would have made a lot more money but he wanted to do something else. So he opened up a small country store in Courtland Alabama. It is not far from Spring Creek which is a tributary of the Tennessee River. You can see in the photograph one of the main selling point of the store is fishing. I remember growing up there and seen this long cane poles that came in big bundles and people would buy them and go fishing. He was one of the last of mom and pop stores.
