An amazing mid-century educational film by the US Army Corps of Engineers featuring great animation, nifty aerial shots, a delightful soundtrack, a handsome man in a uniform with a deep, soothing, authoritative voice, historic narratives supporting manifest destiny, coal boosterism, excited mention of the Ohio as America’s “Chemical River” (ahem), and a sales pitch for 19 new replacement locks and dams. 10/10 would watch again.
